Title: Green screen
Post by: grae46 on May 23, 2014, 08:54:21 PM
Hi everyone,

I'm on a fishing trip and my 988 is showing a green screen where the normal start up screen is yellow/amber. It at one point said high voltage input. But now is showing 11v. If anyone knows what I should do thT would be great. I'm going to try to upload a picture with my phone of exactly what it looks like.

Thanks for the help!

Grae

I don't know if this is the answer, but the first thing that caught my attention was the 10.8 volts. I would try another power source.
Try for the mid to upper 12 volt range. I believe Greg posted that low voltage/current can make these units do strange things.

Strange indeed Mike!  First time I’ve seen the digits and letters in green before.

Grae,
If not power related I would suspect a problem with the display as it looks like a few of the colors are missing.  The it looks like this on someone else’s boat I would call Humminbird about getting it fixed.
