Have seen lots of discussions and a few pictures regarding mounting transom transducers on Nitros 750's. However, most of the threads and photos do not say what worked and what didn't. Anyone have a good remedy for this transom style?? Secondly, is 2d sonar a "reality" at high speeds??

Depends on which type of mounting you are wanting to do. I have 750nx 2004, I bought transducer shield saver and wedge to mount under back step, works great. Also added splitter cable for 2D sonar and it works great also mounted inside the hull. On the transducer shield and wedge I had to go to Lowes and purchase and composite shim to add to the wedge that I got from transducer shield. That was to fine tune the unit so that it would pick up trees and rocks.

Yes 2D sonar at high-speeds is a reality given that the transducer is properly installed and the pad of your boat does not leave the water…

HI, I have a 99 Nitro 800LXS it is very much like the 750, I put my boat on the water and used a 3 foot level and 1/4 inch shims to put the bubble between the lines on the level. I laid the level front to back on the Bow and only placed 1 shim under the level(at the rear) to put the bubble perfectly between the lines on the level. Then went home and place the level at the precise location on the bow with the shim in the same location as it was while on the water. I then lowered the trailer (in my case) with the trailer jack putting the bubble perfectly between the lines on the level once again just as it was while on the water. Next I place the level on the back deck left to right and leveled the boat by letting air out of the right tire (in my case) until the bubble was perfectly between the lines on the level. I placed the Transducer on the step to as far right of the drain hole as I could before the step started to curve out towards the rear. I also used the black plastic bracket mounted to the step (not underneath the transom) I used a carpenters 2 inch Line level to be sure the bracket was level, which believe me it did not look level and had to convince myself it was and that Levels don't lie. Went ahead with the mount and when I placed the Transducer on the bracket it looked perfect. Went to my home lake and the readings blew my mind ,I had to check to be sure I was not in Simulator mode LOL. Hope this helps, tjsmith
