I booted up after I put the boat in the water yesterday and headed out. I noticed that I wasn't reading my speed and in it's place was the water temp. When I got to my fishing spot I put the trolling motor down and the 360 down. I was able to read my speed on the trolling motor remote. I shut everything down and rebooted everything. I now reset my views and I now had my speed reading. Before I rebooted I looked for my menu to set my views and it was not there. After rebooting I was able to find the menu and reset everything. A little while later I lost my speed view and it reverted back to water temp I also noted that there was a time when the depth reading went crazy. I had it set for auto and the depth showed 90 feet when I was in 7 feet. This screwed up my mapping. Is there a way where I can go in to eliminate the reading of 90 feet? I really hate to loose 5 hours of mapping because if this problem. I am using the following software, i-pilot link--1.160, 360--2.00, 1198--6.740
Any help and or suggestions will be greatly appreciated

I have two 998c hdsi units and after I done the 6.740 download my unit that the 360 bow mount was on does those eratic readings pretty regularly. The same way you described in your post. One minute it will read the correct depth like at 5 ft, then jump to 120 ft then 90 ft then right back to the correct depth of 5 ft again. Seems to always jump around more at shallow depths than at deeper depths. I am not trying to hijack anyones thread but does anyone else have this same problem? By the way I have done the 360 download also..

N9Phil,
Are you mapping in AutoChart? If this is the case than you can just delete those points only. You shouldn't lose 5 hours of mapping. I am not sitting in front of my computer right now so I can't tell you how to do it at the moment. I do know you have to right click on the screen and uncheck the Map so it goes back to the points. Then you need to find the area where the readings are incorrect and right click on the point that is bad and do the "trace" i can't remember exactly what it is called. Then it will ask you to delete point or edit file. I just simply delete the point. You would have to do that for each bad data point you have. After you have all the points deleted you have to update the map. Again, I am not sitting at the program so i don't remember exactly how it's done. You would have to look at the manual. Of course none of this is relevant if you are not using Autochart! 😃

Cory, I am using Autochart and Dr Depth. I will play with it when I get a chance.
Thanks

Cory, Thanks, it worked great. I found that if I held down the control key as I right clicked on multiple points I could do it a lot faster.
