Howdy all, first post on the forum. Have been reading up behind the scenes for a while, and decided it was time to become a member. Have been away from the water now for a few years, when I sold the boat. I was a Humminbird owner many years ago with lower end units, and the last upgrade back then, was a 3d model. It is amazing how far technology has come since then! Kids have now grown and gone, so my fishing buddy of 25 years, (my wife) and I decided it was time to buy a new boat and get back out on the water again. ;D
I am in the process of rigging the new boat with a 999 si at the console, and a 859 di at the bow. Have installed the I Pilot link on my PD V2 and want to starting networking them together.
Which brings me to my first, of probably many questions of this great group. Why is there such a shortage of the new ethernet switch, AS ETH 5PXG? Is it just new enough yet, that they are that hard to find? Thanks for letting me be part of the group here, and for letting me pick everyone's brains!  ;)

Greg may have a more "official" answer ....

I think HB trys to supply its dealers (and major boat builders) first....and who knows how many dealers HB is connected with...

No official answer from me but my guess is that someone did not expect them to be quite so popular and did not forecast that we would be selling so many.  If we did, we surely would have made more of them already!

Thanks for the replies guys! I thought perhaps it could be a manufacturing slowdown, or something similar. Greg, are the units available through the Humminbird site, and dealer network yet?  I have looked online through a dozen or so websites, only to find them all unavailable. We are coming up on a fishing vacation, and will have to rig just one unit if unable to locate a switch. So just trying to get a heads up. Thanks again for your help, it is much appreciated.

Yes they are available through the dealer network.  You will have to check with the CRC folks to find out of Humminbird has them on-hand or not.  I can’t get into that part of our system here and it could change if I check now and you try to order later.
