Title: 365 Si Combo
Post by: Rocketman783 on February 10, 2010, 09:43:49 AM
Can the 365 unit be used as a GPS unit only, as in not hooking up the transducer? Or if the transducer must be hooked up, can it be placed so as as to be out of the water? What problems would that cause for the unit and transducer? I am trying to get another Gps up in the front of the boat. I don't want to share the space on my 788.

I dont see why not!  Not sure how it will react without transducer hooked up, but still should opperate as GPS no problem.

I have done exactly this.  Our 1197 is in a portable box so we can use it any where any time on any boat.  when using the GPS only to drive to a particular place (as in drive the truck) we do not hook up the transducer.  GPS works fine.    Chuck
