Hi
I have two 998csi's. One is 2012  and second is 2013. I want to update to the latest version software and my question is this.
If i download update to one unit will it also update second unit or is that a separate action. they are connected with ethernet  cable. Thank you for your help.

You have to update each one independently.

My personal preference is to not have them networked to anything when I do the update......Reset defaults before and after.

Just so anyone else reading this is clear:
Each unit has to have its software updated independently of the other.
Since both of these units are the same 998c Si model, they can use the same update file.
