Title: How many ethernet ports ?

 I need to know how many ethernet ports are on the 2014   900 and 800 series units ?  I thought I read somewhere a that the new units will have two availible ethernet connection ports .  Anyone know if this is true ?

Not sure which new units you are talking about, but I don't think any of them have 2 Ethernet ports.  If you need to connect to more than one Ethernet device, the 5 port Ethernet switch is needed.

The Models in question are  999ci ,959ci , 899ci , & 859ci

I want to use my 998c si hd and I pilot link and share data with another unit (not yet purchased ) , without having to spend another $250.00 - $300.00 for a ethernet switch and two more ethernet cables on top of the cost of a new combo unit .

Those units only have a single Ethernet connection each.  You will have to purchase the 5-Port Ethernet Switch and Ethernet Connection Cables of you want to connect them all together.  The i-Pilot Link should come with its own Ethernet Connection Cable.
