I just bought an 898 to go with an i-pilot link.
I am thinking about getting another one so I can have one up front and one by the tiller.
I also plan to connect the i-pilot and both units through a 5 port Ethernet switch.
My question is. If I connect a transom mounted si transducer to the rear unit and a trolling motor mounted si transducer to the front unit, will i be able to use either transducer from either unit ?
Will I only be able to use the transducer connected to the unit ?
Will it not work correctly because the units will try to use both transducers at once ?
Thanks.

If you are connected by Ethernet you should be able to use either transducer with eiither graph.
You can choose which transducer, GPS puck, etc. to use with a specific graph by going to the Networking settings screen on each graph and making the selection.

Ranger, If you download the ethernet manual. Or use the manual on the dvd that comes with the unit. It expains all the questions I had about what is shared and what is not. Bob
