I want to eventually install an external gps with hs at the bow. will the bow mounted trolling motor or fishfinder mounted at the bow comprimise the gps. I also do trolling with the trolling motor stowed and use my kicker motor on the back. Any advise on how close these other units can be to the gps puck? I'm obviously looking for best acccuracy using my 999ci si. Thanks Dave R.

The magnets in the TM housing while stowed can definitely affect the compass in the AS GPS HS antenna...if they are close enough together...
You may have to experiment with the antenna placement while watching the boat icon on the chart view...
If the boat icon changes direction between the TM being deployed and being stowed ...you will have to start "inching" the puck away from the TM housing until the boat icon shows no effect...
