Hey Guys,
I just installed a new 598ci SI unit. It came with a separate package called a Transducer Insert. What is this for and it is necessary?
Also, when running my boat at a top speed of 25mph I am getting spray coming up off the transducer. Any suggestions on what is causing this?
Thanks for any and all suggestions!

The insert it to keep the spray down! ;D

I have a 898 mounted on my Lund and the water spray is bad. How do I stop it? I did not get a insert for my transducer
Thanks

Same here on my Lowe with the roster tail. At first I thought it was due to being to low but in raising it I had problems with not getting clean water under the ducer. Lowered it and cleared it up.
Will have to check and see what I need to do in ordering one, done had one bad experience with clipping something in the water.

The center item in the top row in this link is what your looking for.

Some people have had good luck wrapping the bracket with electrical tape where the insert would go.
Cheap fix and worth a try.

thx Newkid4SI for the link
Does anyone have or can take a px of this already installed?

A better picture in this link. Fourth row, fourth from left.

I think inserted between the plastic ears, front of transducer toward the back, flat end toward boat, curved side up. Just guessing.
If I didn't have a plug, I would try the tape around the plastic ears.

That transducer plug is for the CSi (Compact Side Imaging) XNT-9-Si-180-T transducer only. There is no such plug for the larger HDSi transducers.

Bummer, thx greg. you saved me some money.
ooh well looking on the bright side I took some precautions to help if I do tap something again.

Sounds like Humminbird needs to get a fix for our larger transducers!!! The problem is bad and the answer is not wrapping the bracket with duct tape! We pay good money for these units and should not have to comprise!

If this transducer is causing water spray then it is mounted too low on the transom.
