im having problems viewing my recordings made with my 798 si unit. If I go to snapshot and recording view I cant see my recordings . but I see them fine on the chart view screen where I can select them and even edit their name….any ideas what I’m doing wrong. Oh and I have the unit off the boat and in normal mode.

When you were recording...did you manually "Stop" the recording in the Recording Xpress menu...??
Did you have a SD Card in the unit during recording...??

yes to both questions. i can see them on the the map....can scroll over to select edit move all that....just don't see them in the snap shot and record menu

Do you have the SD card in the unit? Have you taken it out to download or anything? Deleted any files? You will be able to see the waypoints because those are stored on the unit, but the recordings are stored on the SD card. If it IS in the slot, remove it and reinsert it.

maybe i should try a new recording. funny thing is when i take my sd card out i still see the recording icon on the map viewer? and yeah i did test the sd card out....it works

Yes, you will still see the icon. When you start recording the unit creates a waypoint and uses the recording icon as the waypoint icon. So it will remain even if you delete the recording or remove the sd card.

There have been some postings of the SD Card actually being "popped" out of its engagement when the card slot cover was snapped back in place...
