Title: dual control head compatability
Post by: coastalretention on January 04, 2014, 10:03:25 PM
I have an 1199 at my console and a 1198 on the bow connected thru a 5 port. I also have the I pilot link, I pilot st, 360 imaging and the radar radom. When I cut both units on I do not see wer the front unit is reading the Navionics Platinium plus card that is in the console control head. I there a setting I am missing or do I have to buy another sd card for the bow control unit. I thought this was the perpose of the 5 port so the info could be shared. Any advise is welcome.

Maps cannot be shared in the HB units...

You will have to buy a second card for the other unit...

You can share all other info except maps.

using the unit today I left the dock at 5:30 and found that the function key were not lit, only the cursor was lit. Is this normal or does this unit have a malfunction. The fish ID and Fish ID alarm are on and no sound would come from the unit. I could not find a volume setting as my 1198 has. could you comment on this if possible.

i don't think there's a volume setting but sound pitch setting, high, medium, or low pitch. As for the button backlighting, I think they should be all lit up. Try again later and see if they light up. I don't know what the temps are there but it might be something.

If all the buttons are not lit up then there is a problem with the backlighting for those buttons and the unit would need to be sent into Humminbird.  Call the Humminbird Select number to set this up.
