Title: Starting location in GE thru Humviewer
Post by: rnvinc on January 30, 2010, 08:32:48 AM
My Humviewer 44 is working great....

I have a question about the Google Earth link in Humviewer.....

I click on Tools/Show in Google Earth....and GE opens.....

When the GE aerial view swings into view...it stops on Miami FL....

I moved the aerial view to my home lake with one of my waypoints showing in the middle of the screen....(imputted from HB PC)...

Clicked on my waypoint....

Opened the View Tab...

Selected..."Make this my starting location"...

Closed GE...

Went back into Humviewer..

Again clicked on Tools/Show in Google Earth...

GE opens again...but it still swings into view on Miami FL...

My waypoint now has a yellow pushpin on it showing that it is, indeed my starting location.....

Can I make GE swing into view and focus on my home lake/waypoint when it first opens...??

I may have found my own answer...but please verify if possible...

I only have 1 recording that I have been working with in Humviewer...and that recording is of a 20 minute simulation I recorded from my 1197...

In Humviewer...when I click on Tools/Show in Google Earth.....is GE taking me to the GPS coordinates that happen to be associated with my recording.....even though my recording is of a simulation...and not a recording of my actual home lake...??

I think you're right.
If the recording was made from the simulation file of your unit, it just shows the GPS data of the simulation file. So the file for the simulation was made in FL.

Correct me if I'm wrong here.

Did you save that location in GE in the "My places"? If it is showing there it should start there.

Maybe you could get someone in your area to email you some of their HB recorded files to play with.

I can send you some of mine (I am in Southern California water temp today was 54 degree F), but I fish a small reservoir which is void of timber, so you do not get a lot of structure other then rocks and boulders, some channels.

But for some of you eagerly waiting for the spring thaw you may want to ask someone with good pics to send you some files.

I only had time to make one 20 minute simulation recording before I had to send my brand new unit back to HB for repairs....damaged in shipping...... ???

I've been using the simulation recording in Humviewer to get familiar with Martin's program.......while I wait on return of my unit....

Hopefully should get my unit back from HB this week...and maybe find time to actually get on the water to do some recording.....

I plan on NOT fishing the first few times I go out just to play the 1197...
