Title: 998c hd si 2d pixelation problem
Post by: Speedtroller on November 18, 2013, 10:50:03 PM
just got my new 998c hd si  took it out and had major problems with the 2d sonar. I have done some research and talked to a few guys on bbcboards. everyone says go get the 6.49 software and it will fix the problem as long as I am not using the Ipilot link or 360. but if I go backward in software some say hummingbird can void my warranty. so I need to try the 6.74 update and it can cause other issues. my question is what is the trueth and what is my best option

What ever software version your unit originally shipped with is the earliest version you will be able to ( or lets say should) go back to.  So if your unit shipped with 6.6 for example.  You should not go back to 6.49.

if there was a hardware change in production, then going back to an update prior to the one it shipped with could damage your unit.

Hope that helps.

Robert
