Hi. I'm finding a good deal on a 2012 998c SI CBO unit. I would like to ethernet connect it to my 1197 so my wife has a display too. When we troll, I block her view.
Will these units direct connect to each other using an ethernet cable?
What does the CBO mean? Is it just a combination of unit and preloaded maps?
I'm also looking to mount the 998 in the bow when I'm on the trolling motor again connecting to the 1197. Any reason I can't if I swap cables at the 1197 when I move the 998?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks for any and all help!!!

CBO is combo unit, pretty much complete. CHO is display only.
And I don't think the 1197 is ethernet capable. It is interlink capable.

Yes,the 1197 does have Ethernet! You shouldn't have any problems.

I’m thinking that the “CBO” was a typo for “CHO” (the “B” key is close to the “H” key on your keyboard). That is a Control Head Only unit and it will not come with a transducer.
Yes the 1197 is Ethernet capable as Robert stated.
If I am understanding you correctly you are going to set up two locations on your boat to use the new 998 unit from, correct? If so, you will need to buy a second power cable and possibly a GPS Receiver, unit gimbal mount and connector collector – all depending on how you do this. You will definitely need an Ethernet Connection Cable (or cables) in the appropriate length(s).
