When I try to open a NEW FILE in humpc, I get that message. So how would I open a new file?
-
Is G: the SD-card? If so, maybe it's write-protected and move the SD-card tab so its not locked(write-protected).
While it's OK to put HBPC's GPX files on an SD-card, I would also have it on my PC hard-disk.
And maybe put the GPX files outside the MATRIX folder.
IMO
The HBPC default location of GPX is My Documents>My_HumminbirdPC>GPX_Files

Yea, I'm trying to think ahead just like that "Change Once, Save it 2ce, "
-
So . . . Problem solved?
-
Not yet but I might have a work around. I don't have "My Documents>My_HumminbirdPC>GPX_Files[/b] ++ I'm tech challenged
-
That is the default location that the HumminbirdPC program uses so you should have it when the program was installed.

So how would I get it to open a new file?
Left-click the New File icon on HBPC's toolbar
or
Left-click File, select New, then left-click New File
Do you have the latest HBPC 4.3.8?
The above should create you a new empty GPX file named PC_yymmdda.gpx
Right-click on that file name, select Edit, then you can rename it.

And doing just that is when I get the error message I first mentioned. Access is denied.[G:\MATRIX\PC_1311....
I do have the latest HBPC 4.3.8

Is the G: drive your SD-card reader?

Left-click Edit, then Left-Click Preferences and under the General Tab see what the GPX file location says.
IMO, it should be set to the default My Documents\My_HumminbirdPC\GPX_Files location on your PC hard-drive.
You might have My_Documents or Documents depending on your Windows version.
G:\MATRIX folder might now not be a valid folder path. This location must be a existing folder.
