Title: Recording on a 598C HD Si

Help! all of a sudden  I can't record. The message just says error. recording has stopped. Everything else works. I am able to read previous recordings but I get the same message with different cards.

Is the SD-card writeable?  IE. Is it unlocked?
Is the SD-card full?
Does you unit have a 2nd SD slot to try?

If yes's to the above and still failing, I would re-format a SD-card, then test.

I checked the card and the lock/unlock tab was about halfway between the two. Will check the unit again tomorrow. Thanks for the quick reply.

You can check with it out of the water. Just turn it on and select record.

Actually as I just found out all you need is a GPS fix and you can start recording. The lock tab was the problem. All is well. Thanks to all.
