Title: Screen calibration
Post by: new2fish on September 28, 2013, 02:06:08 PM
I have read that you can recalibrate the screen on Lorance can you do this on 998 HD I have never had a good clear image since I bought it thought this may help instead of selling and buying something else.

any help would be nice.

Ronny

Not sure what you are meaning by “recalibrate” here Ronny.
You can try posting some screen snapshots and others may suggest some menu changes.

He may want to take it back to the original factory settings (Restore Defaults)?

Sounds like he's not getting a good scan. Probably just need to play with the chart speed and boat speed first then you can start tweaking other settings.

I have been on factory settings most of the time. I have a new transducer coming maybe that will help. I have to change the contrast to be able to see much on the left on Si because it gets real dark on left side only. If the contrast wasn't changed you would only see half of the left side. I can turn around and come back and it will still be dark on left so its not bottom contour.

Is the transducer level side to side?

Ive tried dif speeds have just moved from transom to jack plate nothing changes unless I change contrast then the other side gets real light. Im hoping new transducer will fix prob.

I had that prob when I 1st installed my unit, if I was you I'd check yo make sure your ducer is level when your boat is in the water. If you look at your shoot some of the structure that shows under your boat only shows on the right side. That more than likely means the right side is higher!!
