Last week I found this sunken boat, while on the water today I went over to just show the wife and found it covered in fish. We ended up not moving from that spot and took several crappie. We had a ball...not had a day on the water like that in some time.

I've noticed that after going into photobucket and resizing it really brings down the detail in the shot from what I see on the water but you get the point. Gotta love SI ;D

That's what it's all about

Nice!

nicely done

I guess showing the wife made purchasing SI worthwhile then :)

;D yep, that will help alot when i tell her that i need a bow mount SI....to keep us on the school lol
Did you get yours dialed in yet?
-
I did get dialed in. Much more to learn . I also need to upgrade my bow mount unit. I was thinking of going with the 898 HD DI. I am not sure if I will pay the upgrade to an SI . The ram mount I have the 898 SI to is pretty easy to flip around and viewI would like to have the DI and the bigger screen for dropshotting.

You aren't going to want to use a DI unit for dropshotting since it has a very narrow beam and isn't good for seeing the bait. (The DI unit also have a 200/455 transducer as the standard 2D transducer.
You would be better of with unit that will do the 200/83 combo......If you trade the transducer in for the DI wide transducer, that could be a good option, however.

JDX
I agree with Bob. The beam is so thin it just takes to much away from fishing trying to deal with keeping the jig in just the right spot. This is why I want to change out my DI unit up front for a HB SI or DI with GPS and 2D.
It can be done on a DI unit but it's a bugger ;D

Gotcha , thank you. I have a tough enough time watching my bait and the troliing motor waiting to eat it up. I like the 858 Di for the bigger screen 2D switchfire, splitscreen to DI so I can identify the structure I am fishing. I thought I would skip the upcharge on the SI for the front I woud think the imagery would be compromised when moving the trolling motor. I had also read that the trolling motor mount and the Si is a bit more tedious, although I know all the pros use it. So the 788ci from 2007 is going to get upgraded to the 858 DI and a ram mount so I can save my neck. Not that I don't love my 788, its my first.
