Hi guys...just found this site and first time poster...
I'm admittedly frustrated as I have a bass boat with dual 797ci2 on the helm & bow of which the bow no longer gives me any accurate depth. The unit is attached to a black square unit that is mounted on the top of the trolling motor.
As for updates & firmware; I'm, once again, don't believe anything has been done to either unit since they were first installed.
I'm also not very technical unfortunately and not really sure how to troubleshoot. The unit at the helm would sometimes not show GPS but that was normally due to a loose wiring that I would simply fix and as was well. I know I also have the interlink. There is a puck on the back of the boat as well.
To be honest, I would rather pay someone that is well versed in HB SI units to trouble shoot the unit & get it working again for me. The dealership I bought the boat back in 08 and installed the unit is no longer around so they're no help.
Anyone in the Illinois area (i'm located in the south suburbs) but also willing to travel to central IL as well to get this fixed. Feel free to let me know if you think you can help & would be interested.
