Title: 998C HD SI losing depth readings while on plain
Post by: Bombercraw on July 01, 2013, 04:49:44 PM
I recently purchased and installed an 998 C HD SI on my Triton.  I have noticed that I lose my depth readings when on plain.  I have the transducer mounted in the center of the transom fairly low (just below the two livewell intake screens) in order to avoid interference with anything that would affect the side scan capability.  Obviously there is interference coming from the hull in that area when on plain.  Is it possible to install a through hull transducer that would work in conjunction with the side scan transducer so that I would not lose my depth reading when on plain?  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Is it possible for you to post some pictures of the transom from various angles?  Allows for a better assessment of the situation and can lead to some better suggestions.

Yes, an XP-9-20 DualBeam inside-the-hull (aka: “shoot-thru” or “thru-hull”) transducer can be installed along with the AS-Si-DB-Y cable for the best possible high-speed water depth readings.
