Title: One side not right
Post by: spes on June 07, 2013, 10:21:18 AM
Hello,
I am running two XHS 9 HDSI 180 T connected to the unit via Y cable.

Today one side just didn't look right all day long.

Other days both sides seem to be ok.
Even then I'm not impressed with the side imaging. The down imaging has helped me find fish, but I have never looked at the SI and said oh there's some fish.
Very disapointed for the money spent on unit AND two
XHS 9 HDSI 180 T transducers.

Question,,
When I ran the transducer cables from the transom to the dash I ran them beside each other... can they be causing interference with each other??

First thing I would do is check to make sure that your right side HDSi transducer is still plugged into the AS-Si-LR-Y cable.  I would also check to make sure that the transducer has not kicked up in its mounting bracket.

If it is, try plugging the right HDSi transducer straight into your Si unit and see if the right Si sonar improves or not.  If it does not, see if it keeps showing all of that ‘clutter’ that it has been showing (that the left side Si sonar has not been showing) when the boat is not moving and the motor is off.  This sill help determine if it is the transducer or some other issue causing the problem.
