Title: HDSI install on Minn Kota Powerdrive V2
Post by: erocks4u on May 05, 2013, 08:01:07 PM
I have searched this forum and others and could not find pictures of a successful install of a HDSI XHS 180T, onto a Minn Kota Power Drive V2. So with the information gathered from various sites I’ve set out to install mine, using a Transducer shield and saver bracket. I had to do a slight modification to the bottom of the TSS bracket to fit tighter against the fin of the V2 I also glued a shim under the TSS to allow the transducer to be closer to the fin and away from the propeller. I’ve also attached a bungee cord close to the head and to the transducer cable leaving about 14 inches of slack in the transducer cable to allow the head to turn 360 degrees; this is also to keep the transducer cable taut to stop the cable from flopping around.
Questions:
1-   Will this set-up work?
2-   Will I get interference or blockage from the fin or prop?
3-   Anyone with better mounting ideas?
4-   I also unscrewed and removed the US2 cable from the head unit to allow the new transducer cable to slide easier with in the large coiled cable. Will this be a problem?

1- Yes
2-  No
3-  None from me.
4-  You will have to test it on the water to see.  There may be trolling motor interference and there may not be.
