Title: PC Connect Screen Error

Hi Everyone, I searched through the archives concerning this error however did not find anything, I recently purchased my 898c SI unit however when booting up it sometimes starts to work properly and  then it goes to a grayed out PC Connect screen and locks up and requires a restart. Upon receiving my unit I did the updates including  the latest update and  the problem is still there. When i heard of the bugs associated with the latest release. I have since went back to 6.490 to see if that was  the problem to no avail.

I work at a sporting goods retailer one of our customer purchased a 998 and is having the same problem.

After the unit boots to the disclaimer screen...wait 30-45 seconds before hitting the "Exit"...

There is a glitch in the new software and this seems to be the best "workaround" for now until the bug gets worked out by HB...

Thanks for your help Rickie, that's what i have been doing however it still does it sometimes, also i went back to firmware version 6.49 is this issue also associated with this version?

I have not heard this issue with the 6.490...but who knows...

Anyway...I, also still get the PC connect screen even when waiting before hitting "Exit"...(but mine is on a 1197 running 6.610)...

As of yet, I have not heard anyone (on the 5 electronics forums I frequent) with an explanation as to what is causing this "PC Connect" screen issue...only advice to wait before hitting "Exit"..

I did hear 1 advice given to wait 3-4 minutes....

I think it is because the unit is still busy booting up Rickie.  I would wait at least 90 seconds to be sure but less time should do it to.

Greg & Rickie thanks for your input on this issue, maybe they should have the menu & exit screens wait to load until the unit is fully booted or something.
