Title: How to change out transducer plugged into a Y cable?
Post by: Gdog on April 22, 2013, 10:58:50 PM: I am having an issue with one side of my side imaging showing much darker than the other. Humminbird said they would send me a new transducer but when I plugged the first one into the Y cable it took effort and snapped into place. It seems to be locked in and I do not want to force it for fear of breaking the Y cable connector and then having to get a new one of those. Is there a trick to getting these undone?

I’ve had to use a pair of channel-lock pliers as my grip is not as good as it once was…

I am tired of my SI ducer taking a beating when I take the boat into the swamp and want to mount it high under the outboard..

I can't really find any concrete part numbers for the ducer and y cable... I have the non Ethernet 798c SI

Any help would be super!

Where will this be mounted: on the transom or inside-the-hull (fiberglass hulled boats only)?
