Title: Interlink disconnecting and reconnecting
Post by: IMhooked on April 07, 2013, 02:32:18 PM
Hey folks,

I have my 997 back from Humminbird and everything checks out with my unit just fine.

They recommended resetting my interlink HOWEVER, my GPS module is not being seen (my 2nd one purchased).  I need it to set 5 arbitrary waypoints to reset my interlink.

My interlink is constantly disconnecting and reconnecting (even when at rest--boat not on the water).

Looking for recommendations...

1) buy a new gps puck first to be able to drop waypoints to reset my interlink?
2) buy a new interlink and hope the gps puck is fine and just not being found due to the intermittent connecting and reconnecting?

Thanks for considering my question(s)!

Try connecting the GPS Receiver directly to your 997 unit to see if it is working correctly or not.  Mark your waypoints with it than.

I recommend try this reset procedure:

To update the situation, I got my hands on a brand new interlink yesterday (friend had still in the box) and hooked it up last night and everything (gps included) works perfectly--I did not share info in the network on his unit.

I'm going to try and reset mine using the method you just linked to in the next hour or two.  Otherwise I'll get a new interlink and delete all waypoints if some are corrupt (mine is out of warranty).

Thanks Greg
