Title: Question for the computer savy
Post by: newkid4si on March 26, 2013, 12:44:44 AM
If you were going to buy a Windows 7 laptop to play your HB SD card recordings
in Humviewer or one of the other players, would you pick

   1. i3,i5 or i7 for processor
   2. how many GB's of memory

    Thanks,  Mike

Mike,

They all will work just fine for what you are wanting to do.  I would get the most you can for your budget.  Minimum 4-6gb memory and I recommend the i5.  But i3 will do!  If you were running something like SonarWiz that is graphics intensive and does simultaneous files and mosaics, then more memory and faster processor.  But HumViewer and Dr Depth etc are not going to be that taxing on any of the newer systems.

I am never one for buying the absolute top of the line when it comes out in computers, but I never buy the lowest either.  I also think you need to stick to brands that have a good record for quality prodcuts like ASUS and SONY.

Hope that helps.

Robert

All of the above will work just fine, I5 is the middle of the road and there,s no need for the I7 really, unless you plan on using more intensive programs or perhaps gaming . If you want over three Gigs of ram then you will need a 64bit operating system. 32b Operating systems are limited to 3gigs of ram.

 Good Luck :)

Robert and Gattlin
Thank you. I was leaning toward the i5, but was unsure about the RAM.
