Title: What to Pair up with a 898 SI model
Post by: bishoptf on March 25, 2013, 09:42:16 AM
I have had for a couple of years now a 898 SI model that I really like, but now wanting to add something to the front of the boat that can team with the 898 and at least allow me to see my GPS points.

It appears if I want to use ethernet then I need to at least go with something like 778c HD unit or higher, other wise if I want to go with the old way (interlink) I could have more options?

Personally I wish they would come out with a B/W model that I could use in the front of the boat that would work with the 898 SI model, but no such luck that I can see.

Anyone have any suggestions as to which models I could go with other then the 700 series, was looking to spend less then what the 700 series goes for...Thanks.

Personally I would wait and save my money to be able to afford an Ethernet compatible unit.  There have been too many that have had problems getting the newer units like the 898c Si units to work with the InterLink.
