I had this unit installed at boat dealer on new boat and everything seems to work except GPS. It shows the following
Fix type- no fix
EST POS Error-2669sm
will the new download provided by HB fix this or is there another issue.
The unit was purchased new in Jan 13.
Thanks for any help.

Is this with the GR50 or GRP GPS Receiver (look on the top of the GPS Receiver)?
What software version is your 1198c Si unit running?
Do you know of someone else that has a Humminbird unit with an external GPS that would let you test your unit on their GPS Receiver?

I am having the same issue on my new unit. Completely uninstalled all wires and cables then reinstalled to be sure connections were good. Tried running power directly from battery to eliminate a possible cause even though I was showing 12.1 volts on the unit. Diagnostic still shows gps connected with no fix and the 2669 error. All other functions of the unit work. GPS receiver is GR50.

Make sure that you guys are testing these outside where the GPS Receiver has a clear view of the satellites.
Is either of your units showing any satellites as being tracked? A Screen Snapshot of the GPS Diagnostic View could help with this.
Again, see if you can find someone else who has a Humminbird unit with an external GPS Receiver that will let you test your unit on their boat and while you are at it; their unit on your boat.

I thought maybe I wasn't getting a clear view of the satellites while testing the unit in my driveway. Spent Friday and Saturday on two different lakes hoping it would make a difference but no luck. The unit is showing that it's tracking satellites on the diagnostic screen but no gps fix. I've got a buddy with a 900 series. We're going to try and get together this weekend and test our units on each others boats. I'll post the results. Thanks.

You could also check under the NAV menu, for
the GPS receiver override.
Set it to Auto.
-
I tried both the auto and external setting but neither one made a difference.
-
Please get screen snapshots of what the GPS Diagnostic View looks like on each unit when you test them.

Tested my unit on my buddy's boat on Sunday, and the gps works fine while I'm connected to his boat. Still nothing on my boat with either one of our head units. I think my gps receiver is bad. I have pictures, but I'm having problems posting them on here.

Sam K,
I would not worry about the pictures as it sounds like you have identified that your problem is the GPS Receiver as your unit worked on your buddy’s boat (GPS Receiver). Call the Humminbird Customer resource folks to set up getting the GPS Receiver fixed (most likely will just get replaced).
-
Greg, thanks for your help. I will call Humminbird this week.

I have tried everything except another boat hook up.(dont know anyone around near me with humminbird set up) i called humminbird and they said to send the unit in. I am going to call again and ask if they still want me to send or just replace the GPS puck. Thanks for the information. Will let you know the result.

New gps puck arrived from Humminbird today. Hooked it up and the gps works like it's supposed to. Definitely had a bad gps puck to begin with. All is well now.
