Hello All,
The forums are great, I have been reading for hours hoping to find a picture of best location to mount the 898 Transducer on a 2001 Nitro. I have my smaller transducer mounted, and was debating on the same location. The only problem is I feel it is exposed to be easily broke off. I have added a few pictures for reference. Man the bottom of my boat is a mess, please excuse her. Advise, Pictures, Personal Experience welcome. And thanks for all your help in advance.

I have no idea why my images came in upside down. THey are not that way on my PC. Sorry

Guess the website thought they needed to be upside down for the Aussie guys to see them the right way! ;D
That location should work if the transducer will fit there. It did not look like you had a jackplate and I am not sure what sort of clearance you would have between the transducer and lower unit on your motor. You could always move it to one side or the other but would have to trim the motor up to keep from blocking the Si sonar.
