I have a 1198c SI and a 998c SI plus the Lake Master chip. Is it worth upgrading to 6.600 to get the link feature? If so what will it do for me. Does anyone have a similar setup. If so are you have any problems with it? Do I need anything extra besides the SW update to get the link option? Thanks

I have the Link, 998 and 1198. You need the ethernet switch to connect them all together if you want that. You also need the Link system of course, which comes with the new i pilot module and big remote. Ethernet switch is around $180, I pilot link is around $800. I've been having problems with my spot lock on the new link module but minn kota has sent a new module. Other than that, it's been really good, especially the goto feature where you tell it to take you to a waypoint and then spot lock there. I use that a lot.

You have to also make sure that you have one of the new i-Pilot Link LakeMaster mapping cards (should have the i-Pilot Link logo on it) for the follow the track feature to work. Even without the newer map card all of the other i-Pilot Link features will still work.
