Title: Another transducer mount question....
Post by: TPrice on February 20, 2013, 04:11:13 PM
I just bought my 998c SI. My boat is a '97 Ranger 518. I got the big setback for a transom. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that my mounting options are:
Mount on the actual pad itself, right above the drain plug.
Mount on the transom under the jackplate, but this way the transducer will not mount high enough to be flush with the bottom of the transom. It would stick down roughly 1 1/2" or 2"
I've seen pics of both these types of mounts in the image gallery that were on other ranger boats.
I guess my question is, are these mounts really ok to use? And which one would be better?
Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read and respond.

Hi,
BBC has an information resource link that shows xducer installs on various manufacturers of boats. There is a specific path for Ranger Boats that you can look at, but it also might be interesting to look at other boat links for ideas.

Here is the link:

Take care,
Roger

Hey thanks for the link! Lots of pics on there. Seen a few that had the thru hull trans. Thinking maybe I need to consider that.
