Help Please. 1198 newbie but been studying this forum and other info a lot. Thanks for the forum, great info. First attempt to view SI recording on PC, not working. Firmware on 1198 is the most recent, updated a few weeks ago. Recordings won't play on Humviewer but Humviewer will play the test file downloaded from their website. I assume compatibility issues between new firmware and latest ed. Humviewer. Tried viewing on XP and Windows 8 PCs. Recordings were stopped properly. One recording is a test run of about 7 minutes from simulation mode. All recordings seem to have all the correct folder, *.dat file. *.son and *.idx files. They will playback on the 1198 unit. Any ideas or recommendations or another viewer known to be capable of viewing the SI recordings from latest firmware on 1198? Thanks very much for any help. Thanks again for such a great forum.

The new software update has caused problems with the all PC viewing software as far as I know. Humminbird has changed the format of the data and the 3rd party developers are going to have to catch up.
Your only choice for now would be to go back to the previous version.......always save your old versions, or they are available in the download section of this site.

I was afraid that was the problem. Is there any way to convert the existing recordings to the old format? Yes, lesson learned on the firmware version. Didn't save the old version. Thank goodness for this forum and the downloads. I had no idea HB has such issues with "improvements" to their firmware. Sorry if these are repeat issues, I did try to search and didn't find the info. Thank you.

No way to convert that I know of.
This is the first time since I have been on the forums that Humminbird has done an update that was as major as the last one. There are usually a few bugs with a new release, however, and it is best to watch the forums for a while after an update has been released before updating.
I think the basic data format was changed to accommodate the new 360. I have also heard that there are changes that enhance the si image as well.

Someone send me a small recording. I will look at it and see what has changed.

So..... It looks like Humviewer may be a thing of the past.... Don,t see any activity for a long time on their download website.
What if any other options are available for casual viewing of recordings on a computer?

FYI: SonarTRX has been updated to support recordings made with the new Humminbird 6.60 software. Please contact support for more information.
