Post by: didier74 on February 09, 2013, 04:39:04 AM
Hi everybody,
Interrested in I Pilot link, have downloaded from minnkotamotors the user manual
And read it carrefuly
There is a section about software updates process:
   1-Update for fish finder
2-Update for I Pilot link remote and controller software

It seems I Pilot link and trolling motor must be powered on and connected for update software ??
Does it process to update new software v6.600 ?

Didier,
They way I understand it is if you load software version 6.6 on the humminbird and have I pilot link attached and powered on it will update to the i pilot link software version contained in 6.6. No one know what that is just yet.

When I installed my I Pilot Link and connected it to the ethernet hub, all that happened was the 1198 found the I-Pilot Link.  There was no updating done at that time because I think the Link is already programmed.  Later on I think there will be messages telling you the I pilot has updated when you update the finder and then turn on the Link.  My Link has worked from the get go.
