If i link my 998c si to a 798 hd si with ethernet and the 798 is connected to the internal transducer of my terrova would i be able to see the side images from the 998on the 798?

Yes Gator,
You will be able to display on your 798 c Hd Si, Side Imaging from your 998 c Si
When units are Ethernet connected you can share your transducers in Network menus

Thanks, another question, even though 798 has internal gps can you hook up external ant and choose it?

Yes you can Gator.
Look for the GPS Override menu when you get it all hooked up and running.  You will want to select the "Local External GPS" menu setting.
