Does the new software "Stop Tracking" setting under the NAV tab/Current Track/Stop Tracking actually stop the tracking points from being entered into the unit memory or is the track just "hidden" from the chart view.... ??

As far as I can tell it stops it Rickie.
Why do you ask?

It is a good question.
We are curious as to if the process stopped entering into processor memory even if it was not on the screen. Would free up some room for other taskes if this is the case...

Chuck's post is my thoughts also...

My vote is that it stops all tracking completely.
It would be dumb to allow the user to turn this off, and
for the system to keep using resources for it.
If that does turn out to be the case, then Humminbird
should re-label it as 'Hide Tracking'.

I tried using the Stop Track function and the unit stopped adding to the current track. It also erased the part of the current track that was there before I selected to Stop Tracking. When set to Start Tracking, the unit started a new current track and did not use any data from the old current track that was made before I set the unit to Stop Tracking. Make sense? So I don’t think that the unit is remembering any trackpoints once you set it to Stop Tracking, but I don’t know if it is still internally tracking or not. That would take the Software Engineer who wrote this part of the program to answer that question.
