Originally, I had a 997 on my Terrova, mounted with a TSS. I have the transducer cord threaded thru the shaft. Then I changed heads to an 1197 . For some reason, my SI is "blurry"? I thought it may be the used 1197 I bought needed to be sent back for servicing, but I recently bought a 1198 to run the Terrova IPilot Link.. I decided to switch the 1197 and the new 1198, and see if the SI screen was still blurry... It was.
Questions
1) are all of the HDSI transducers exactly the same..
2) what could be the cause of blurry fish?
3), is there any other diagnostics that I should do before tearing my Terrova apart and mounting a new HDSI ducer?
4) is that my only option?
Thanks.

Pending any known issues could you post a snapshot od the screen..

Chuck,
Since its on the Terrova, they are somewhat distorted from the speed (or lack of) to begin with.. This is the same transducer Ive had on for 4 years, Im just starting to notice the fuzziness with fish. Its the same with both units, so Id guess its transducer based. Ive got a new Terrova 101 IPilot Link on order, so Im just going to leave it as it is for now, and then when I change the Terrova out, Ill install the 1198 transducer and see if it helps.

RD ....thanks, It seems it may be transducer related and with you guys that can reproduce this be sure to let all of us know..I wonder about the longterm life of the transducers. Ours is starting to get flaky....

This one ended up with a 1//2" gash in the bottom of it... somehow. Noone seems to know how, but its been that way for at least a year.
