Has anybody used a MicroSD card in their units with a MicroSD-SD card adapter?
Found a couple of MicroSD cards laying around and tried them in my 998C... seemed to work OK in simulator for a couple of short recordings.
Plan on them being temporary, but was wondering if anyone had any real reasons not to use them.

They work fine. Ive used them before and they work exactly the same...

Isn’t that what Navionics started using for their mapping cards?

Sounds good.... Haven't been able to find any high speed SD cards locally so being able to use Micro SD gives me a 2 GB and 4 GB extra. Don't use them for anything else anyway.... ;)

If it works for you then use it.. the point being is that asking the question will give you some hints as to the reliability of the card. If others say it is ok then it will probably be fine for you.
If others have problems then I would not use it.

Chuck--
Exactly... ;)
That is why I posted the question.... To see if anyone else had tried it and had reliability issues.....
So far my longest recording on one has been 30 minutes without a problem (in simulator mode). 8)

I confirmed that Navionics has been using the micro SD memory cards with an adapter. They started this quite a while back (couple of years maybe?), so I doubt that there is any problem associated with the use of a micro SD card or we all should have heard about it by now.

Great.... Thanks Greg..... :)
Looks like I found a couple of extra cards laying around in the bottom of a drawer for my 998c when I decided to give this a try... ;)

Good call greg. My navionics card is a microSD.

There can be issues writing to a micro SD. It is a second set of connections that you need to worry about, so if the tolerances are just a touch loose and it is a hot day out you may lose that connection and your recording will fail. You will probably be fine, but be aware that there is a potential issue with micro sd cards. And yes I have seen this happen.

Agreed....
That is why these cards are slated as spares for my unit.... Right now I will just be using them for playing with the simulator... 8)
