Title: 1198c SI Ram Mount?
Post by: Zildjian on January 10, 2013, 12:48:22 AM
Hey guys,

Which Ram Mount do you guys recommend  RAM-D-111U (long) or RAM-D-111U-C (short)? Anyone have and experience with either one of both? Just trying to figure out which one to go with between the two mounts. Pros vs Cons?

Thank You,

I have been using the long vversion on my 1198. I chose it primarily over the short as I have my base mounted on the side of my console and the longer clamp alows me the flexibility to rotate the whole unit down and against the console if I need it out of the way. I have not had any issues with the longer length allowing the unit to be "bouncy" or anything. Of couse the arm is only at about 20 degrees off of vertical when I am using it, so that may have some influence. I think my position would be that the length would really be what fits better dimensionally with where you are trying to place the mount base and where you wish the unit to be.
