Title: gps and speed unconected

This is a marriage unit. Power is not to blame. Try to change the firmware. If not help back to the factory.

Are you using this unit outside?
If the power connections check good you will need to call the Humminbird Customer Resource folks and see about getting your 587ci HD DI unit in to be serviced. 1-800-633-1468

Likely faulty internal GPS receiver. At home, it is not repaired. Already experienced this only in the other device.
