I don't think so, unless Navionics makes some special
viewing software.

Be careful with these cards.
I've heard that if the card senses that it's being copied,
it will self-destruct and erase itself.

The program is called Navionics PC

This is incorrect.

Yes you can view your Navionics card on a pc.

Navionics Multi Card Reader - FUGMARUP-4-4N $69.95

The USB compatible Navionics MultiCard Chart Reader for Fugawi Marine ENC Ver. 4.5.x or other Navionics compatible PC software.

This kit includes card reader with attached USB interface cable, and a free 10-day demo version of Fugawi Marine ENC software on CD-ROM.

Use the Navionics Multi Card Chart Reader in conjunction with your Fugawi Marine ENC or other Navionics compatible software to read your Navionics Platinum+, Platinum, Gold+, Gold, Silver, Fish'N'Chip, HotMaps or Discovery charts on your PC.

Use the reader in conjunction with your own CompactFlash or SD memory card to transfer waypoint and route data between Fugawi Marine ENC on your PC and compatible chart plotters.

And you do have to be careful not to try and copy anything, it will self destruct.  The best thing is to make sure the card is in the protected mode before using.

I have a platinum card and have used it on my computer, but I found that the Navionics HotMaps Explorer™ ($30) is all I need as long as the map I need comes in Hi Def.

George,
navionic just said this isn't true.

Maybe Navionics wants people to try and copy the cards, so they will be destroyed, and they
would have to order new ones at $150+ a pop. ::)
Not sure.  I've heard about the dangers of even trying to read these
cards in other than sonar units.  Some stopped working.

ITGEEK

I have read a few blogs that a couple of folks cards no longer worked and that Navionics would not replace them.

that is good enough for me not to try anything.  If Navionics ever makes a serious update to my lake , I may replace the card and then I will play with it.  There upgrade rebates are not worth the effort.

These cards are very expensive and should be repeatable to use on a second unit.  The technology is there if they wanted to make it happen.

I know the sale of these cards are to a limited market , but it appears they have too many restrictions.  If the cards were more durable there would be people working on their own cards to improve them and developing mapping programs to make updates.

In time we will have it all.  It is no different then how computers have evolved over the years, it will only get better.

I can view all my waypoints on the "Navionics P.C. App." that I have on my computer.
You can get it when you buy the chip.  Am I missing something or would you just like
to copy the chip ? Fay

You no longer need the multi card reader with the new version of the cards, just download the PC app for free (when you purchase a new card). The old cards will "self destruct" if you put them directly in the computer and try to view with explorer.

Neither card can be copied safely.
