Title: Waypoint Download Question
Post by: LocoD on November 14, 2012, 03:12:46 PM
I am having a problem downloading my waypoints into Humminbird PC. My unit says it is exporting all tracks and waypoints to the SD card. When I put the SD card in my PC and click to download into Humminbird PC, it states download is complete, but there apparently is nothing there or Humminbird PC is not accepting the data.
I have tried this with two SanDisk cards. I have successfully downloaded waypoints onto an SD card  to transfer them to a friend's unit, but this is my first time trying to load them into Hunmminbird PC. I have a 798ciHDsi with 6.25 software.
Can someone with experience advise me on this ?
Thanks.

LocoD,
Make sure that you are using the Download function in HumminbirdPC and not the Open function.

Look on the SD card and see if there is a Matrix folder and in that folder a file named DATA.HWR

There is a Matrix Folder on the card with a 1 KB HWR File. I am clicking on the image of the SD card in HPC and clicking on the blue arrow to download. I also tried right clicking and then downloading. No dice.

Very strange, have not heard of this problem before that I can remember… wait!  Make sure that your memory card is not locked, if it has a lock on it.

If that does not help; is there any chance that you can e-mail me the DATA.HWR file to try out?  Also send any HT files with it as well.

Neither of the memory cards were locked. I'll email you the files if you can give me an email address. I think it may be a problem with my PC not recognizing the GPX file format.
Thanks.

Problem solved. Waypoins successfully downloaded into HPC. I was not exporting correctly with the new software. Thanks.
