Title: Side imaging gone need advice

The transducer bracket on my 798ci si combo recently broke. I ordered a new one from HB and just replaced it this past weekend. Today I took the boat out to get some gas and test out the unit. All seems to be working except the SI screens. The SI screens are now all black ... I did find a few wavy lines on one of the views on the left side.

Since the transducer was banged on the transom a bit when the bracket broke I am thinking the transducer may have been damaged internally. Thought I would ask the experts to see if there are settings I can check or test to run. I do not have access to another unit to test on. Everything was working perfectly before the bracket broke. Any ideas will be appreciated.

It does sound like the transducer was damaged.  And not improbable as it could have taken a good banging.. I think there are some other users near you. Ask around at the fishing shop. Roddy may have some contacts also..

I think KMart or selected KMart stores sells transducers by themselves...
