long story short i have a 17' deepV. I currently have a 596c GPS at the helm (older singlebeam transom mount) and a new 998SI at the bow(transom mount), I also have a 595HD underneath the 998 that is on US2 sonar thru my terrova for up front 2D. I am thinking of getting either another 998 or even a 1198 cause they arent much more right now. I fish alot of electric only lakes here in NJ and im on the bow in these lakes. I was thinking of another 998SI and using a TMmount so I can have DI and SI on the front of the boat instead of behind me on transom. I use the bow 998 if Im slow driving w the gas motor looking over the windshield when im on the big lakes w gas motor, its annoying, the 596console unit is older it has a gold chip and is good for GPS and depth but thats it the sonar sucks. I also read about a guy who got a 958 and 998 and switched them between helm and bow depending on which lakes he fished, of course he had HDSI ducers in both locations i guess the connectors are the same. Im worried about interference if I run 2 SI units at the same time, Id like my partner to be able to view the console unit too, maybe network them? Or should I get another brand to avoid interference alltogether ive only ever run HB. What to do, I sold my xtra kicker and have the $$ now for a unit but not sure what to do.......I love the 998 its big enuff up close but standing away from it makes me wish i got the 1198 so I use the whole screen for SI or DI or GPS and use the 595 for sonar thru terrova and works good....the 1198 (if bought) would go to bow and 998 would move to console....advice? I mostly chase stripers, walleyes, trout, downrig and troll a bit. Very little bass fishing and if so I dont really flip or jig them much.........thanks

Any two sonar units running on the same boat at the same time will have the chance of having sonar-to-sonar interference if they are both using the same frequency. Our main competitor uses the same frequencies that we do.
Of the units you have mentioned getting you can Ethernet connect them to your 998c Si unit and set them to share sonar, so your partner can see the same thing that you are seeing up front.

I have a 19' fiber glass bass boat and run a 1198 at the front and a 998 at the console. I don't have any issues with the 2 interfering with each other. I was more concerned with getting the transducer installed on the trolling motor.

Whether you have or see sonar-to-sonar interference is based on a bunch of different factors. Water depth, distance between the transducers, water conditions/quality and bottom composition are some of them. Turning on and up the Noise Filter menu setting can help hide the interference in some cases.
