Hello everyone. New to the site and new to the 798si. Heres my issue, It reads fine when the big motor is on. I can see balls of bait fish. trees rocks everything. When i turn off the big motor it does not read anything. It looks like abunch of lines. I also cant save snap shots when the big motor is off. There is no detail to the images at all. Does any1 have any ideas??!

ty....make sure the battery you are hooked to is good. (has plenty of amps.) it kind of sounds like the battery is bad and you are running from the output from the "big motor"...You can isolate this by trying the unit on another known good battery...
This also could be the way you may connected the wiring to the unit.
Most folks run the sonar on a dedicated battery that is kept charged..
