Title: 797 SI Problem, Need to restart.
Post by: Eksnipan on September 15, 2012, 05:24:23 AM
Hi

When fishing in rough water my transducer sometimes latches on 0 meter depth  ? I think my sensor sometimes comes above water  ( or it can happen if crossing a vessels path )
then the depth goes from e.g 30-40 meters to 0 for 2-3 second and stays on 0m.
Sometime if shorter then a 1sec it comes back to correct depth.
But most of the time it latches on 0m and I have to restart the whole unit.

Is there a workaround (until I move the transducer )  To either a quicker "restet"  or filter out the 0-2m echoes so it doesnt lactch.

Have had the unit on two difffernt boats with  similar  problem.

You could try updating the software but I don’t know how much that would help.
Try setting the Max Depth menu setting to a few feet or so deeper than the deepest water that you expect to be in.  Not much else you can do if the transducer is coming out of the water.
