Title: Lost GPS signal
Post by: dm2jokes on September 15, 2012, 01:45:47 AM
Hello everybody!

Well, my HB 798 works fine until last five or six month. I mean, GPS signal lost sometimes and after restart come back but after couple minutes goes off again. After restart I check >System View and there status for GPS is - not connected.
Tomorrow, I check again and there is Connected. Sonar works fine but GPS not >:(. As to be in life my warranty is out for four month.
(May be a thermal issue, this summer was very hot?!?!)

Any ideas?

i experience that sometimes. i tried to tighten the GPS plug at the back of the unit with tape & glue. that solved it.

DM2, if you have the 798ci I think that is an internal antenna.....make sure you are not blocking the satelites reception area of the unit..

Also be sure that you have a good power supply to your unit.  We have seen posts where some have had GPS issues that were traced back to poor power connections to the battery.  Be sure that all are tight and clean.  You might want to load test your battery while you are at it.
