dkibat, Go to HB Home and reg your units, check your unit to find out what was last update installed on it, then check in on your HB Account to see what updates are out.
Update to the latest I/A/W HB inst.

What the updates include also depends on what software your unit have on them now. If there was more than one software update made, than your unit gets them all when you load the latest software but on the latest software version will be listed.
Example: if your 898c Si units have software version 5.700 in them; you go to the Humminbird web site and see that software version 6.420 is offered and it may list that it only added NMEA 2000 support. What you will not see is that the software version 6.180 updates also get loaded with the 6.420 version and there were significant changes with the 6.180 software update.

Some updates create bliss, and others create nightmares.
Once you determine there is an update for your unit(s), search this
site and the internet for problems with it. If the update has been out,
say a couple of months, and you can't find any significant
complaints about it, then you are probably OK to update with it.
I would not recommend installing an update as soon as it
comes out. I've been there, done that, and regretted doing
that.
