Got out on the water today it was cold and windy here OH ,MI area. High temp 45 NW wind about 15 kt but I had to do some fishing. And field testing of my new 997 install.
First, Thanks again to everyone who offered up your expertise.
I have some pictures of transducer location and head unit on my Ranger 619. That I will add to post.
Everything work as advertised, the side image worked perfect even with the outboard trimmed down. I was wondering about that. I like the brown screen best for the side image view. I shorted up my left and right views to 100 ft. Depths I looked at were from 2 ft down to 30 ft. And left everything set to auto. Or at least I think it is set there.
I am sure what weeds look like and also found a large dock pole to look at too.
I did not get any screen captures maybe next time out.
As far as the photos, that funny looking thing on the head unit is cover holder that I fabed up with some nylon strap and Velcro.
The fish were biting so spent more time fishing than looking.

capttim,
Congrats on the 997c! Glad everything is working good. Looks like you did a nice job installing as well.
Looking forward to seeing some snapshots!

I cleaned up the wires with the provided clamps.
Now I am ready for some screen captures and the learning curve.

I have a question for you Capt T.
Do you have a dual transducer setup? Do you use your si and sonar for speeds less than 5 mph. Or due you use your setup as in the jpeg for sonar view at high speeds?
Interesting to find out?

It is used for speeds less than 5 mph. I have another unit that works good at higher speeds.
