Title: 1155cx Transducer ?
Post by: Roddy on July 24, 2012, 09:33:21 PM
Just received my 1155cx with two (2) hours use tine on it (when it locked in a loading loop) back from HB today.

Well it was reprogrammed and returned in eight eight days. Well and good.

Installed on the boat turned it on starts the loading and a message appears "TRANSDUCER NOT CONNECTED" ?   ::)

Any help! :'(

Roddy, I thought the 1155c was a navigational unit only and does not have a transducer or sonar. They must have loaded something wrong to give you that message.
Did you call customer service back.

Chuck, 1155cx is a NAV uni but, after repair by HB Service the unit is "looking" for a transducer??

Also, with the 1198,1155 joined to the interconnect unit the 1198 gives a message"other unit needs to be updated"
Both  1198 and 1155 have the latest updates  installed.

Called HB Customer  Service  yesterday morning  BIG MISTAKE!!! got  a CSRep named kaikeysha barely  spoke English, rude  keep trying  to talk over me, told me that the repair tech had" REPLACED the Main circuit  board" lie number one. I had painted slippage marks on the screw , the screws  weren't touched.

Then she changed the story  to the unit was only reprogramedand the tech don't trouble  shoot  the but reprogram the without checking  the the units. Sounds like a fast way to go broke. Lie number two.

So I called back and got Barbara, smart, knowledgeable, courteous, and took  the time to lookup the work order, the unit was checked out then reprogramed.

After the call I received  a email  from Barbara requesting more info on the 1155 problem.

Well Roddy,
You know the deal.
You are just going to have to patiently work with HB customer support.
They're the only ones that can fix the unit.

How do you make room on your boat for all of these toys?

ITG,,,,,he has about 15 boats and just puts stuff on them till it is full and then gets another boat and starts again. When he goes out he just ties all of them together in a line and pull them all around.. ;D

Roddy, if the unit is a navigation only and they only reloaded the code how does it now think it has sonar.
Sounds like the code folks at HB need reprogramming themselves...1155 is a legacy unit so probably not a lot of support anyway..

Glad you got a nice rep as they do have some great people there. However customer service is not tech repair so dont know what is there as you dont get to talk to them..

ITG, Flats boat, Bay boat, Ocean boat and Rubber duck for the bath tub. ;)

Chuck, On July 02,2012 when I ordered the 1155c HB emailed me that the " 1155c was out of stock :'( and that as soon as one was BUILT they would ship it to me", mid July I received the 1155cx.

Yep HB has some good people, I just got one on her bad day.

HB should do as Interphase Customer Service, call in and be transferred to a line tech or a IT Geek. ;D
I was out one day and a Interphase Twin Scope went nuts on me in the middle of a search :'(, called Interphase CS on the SATPhone and was transferred to a IT that talked me step by step thru the reprogramming of the unit :). 30 min and the unit was up and running fine. 'SERVICE. ;D

The wife said she needs a large Sport Fisherman ;D >:D so she can entertain the girl-es on but I have to sell  the 27' and the 21' first.
Let's see 60' sounds about right with a cabin office/SI Lab. ;D >:D >:D

Roddy,
What software version is loaded into your 1155cX unit?
Does the start-up screen say that it is an 1155cX model unit?

Chuck,
We do continue to sell some “legacy” units after they have been replaced.  We do so through the “Closeout” section of the web site.

Do you still make the unit or is this from some store searching to find one..
I thought the 1155 was not on a line any more for build..

Some units are in stock from the last production run.  Others are put together from existing parts (too few for a complete production run).

ok..
So a legacy could be made from returned for repair unit parts..and is not necessarily a "new" unit..

I did not say that Chuck.

When we make a final run of a particular unit we cannot always plan down to the last part, though I am sure that the bean-counters wish we could.  We also cannot predict just how many units we will get orders for – keeping in mind here that some parts have very long lead times and so a best guess has to be made many months in advance.  We may end up with some number of extra parts for these units (we use the same parts for multiple units of we can) which can be used to make “closeout” units.

This is all well and good.

Greg, cx.

" TRANSDUCER NOT CONECTED" Why is this displayed?

Because for some reason the unit is checking for a transducer – which it should not be.

Did you check what software version your 1155cX is running?
Did you note what model the unit says it is when it starts up?

Would this have not been checked out prior to the return to customer?
Certainly hb would not would not send out something different than that which came in...........

Standard procedure is to update all units to the currently available software version Chuck.

So then, regardless of the unit as designed, it can change the design with software...In this case a navigational unit only now thinks it is a sonar unit... :P
